Quantum Technology Centre launch 28th and 29th May 2014, Lancaster University Conference Centre

Businesses and researchers with an interest in quantum technologies are invited to the launch of the Lancaster Quantum Technology Centre on Wednesday 28th May (4-6.30pm) with key note speakers focusing on the importance of quantum technologies, followed by a wine reception at an exhibition of Lancaster’s research expertise.


OECD launches Innovation Policy Platform; Nanotech one of three included Technologies

 

    


The OECD has unveiled a web-based repository of resources that will support better innovation policy-making and analysis. Called the Innovation Policy Platform (IPP), it contains over 300 content pages, 200 OECD reports, and 30 policy briefs, as well as 43 country profiles.Of these pages, 37 are associated with the term ‘nanotechnology’, and 13 with ‘nano’.

ISO publishes second Part of Nanotechnology Occupational Risk Management Standard

The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) has made available for purchase ISO/TS 12901-2: 2014, Nanotechnologies – Occupational risk management applied to engineered nanomaterials – Part 2: Use of the control banding approach. This standard ‘is intended to help businesses and others […] engaged in the manufacturing, processing or handling of NOAA, by providing an easy-to-understand, pragmatic approach for the control of occupational exposures’.
